Maria Gray, LMFT, NMP

Are you tired of traditional talk therapy? I combine a relational style with Somatic Psychotherapy. This means we take time to explore what's happening internally (with your nervous system) so you can learn how to stay calm and “regulated.” Of course we will be talking, but the focus is on how your past informs your present. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist trained in brain/body therapies including: EMDR, Brainspotting, and the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM). NARM is a clinical approach that combines a focus on the nervous system with an exploration and curiosity regarding clients’ thoughts and emotions. These three therapeutic models are resource and wellness-oriented, as well as non-pathologizing. The emphasis is on helping clients re-establish connection to their bodies and to the parts of self that are organized, coherent and functional. As a long time yoga and meditation practioner, I understand the importance of staying connected with our bodies and how challenging that can be at times.

I specialize in trauma and addiction, and I have a passion for working with addictions and adults who grew up around addiction. I am particularly interested in how our society uses "busy"— sometimes in the form of technology overuse and over-scheduling. My extensive experience in the corporate world has also influenced my work.
